Lady Rebel Basketball Camps
Facilities
Thomas & Mack Center
As a sporting center, the Thomas & Mack Center has hosted a variety of collegiate events. In 1992, the Thomas & Mack Center was the host for the NCAA Women's West Regional. The WAC Men's and Women's Basketball tournaments were held at the TMC for three years (1997-99), and the next four years (2000-03), the Center hosted the Mountain West Conference basketball tournaments.
Thomas & Mack Center seats 18,500 basketball fans.
The first event ever held at the arena took place on Nov. 21, 1983, when the Runnin' Rebels faced the University of Victoria, Canada, in an exhibition game.
Other major sporting events that took place in the arena include the National Finals Rodeo and the Riddick Bowe vs. Evander Holyfield heavyweight title fight.
The largest attendance at a TMC event was 20,321 on Dec. 29, 1986, when UNLV defeated Navy and David Robinson, 104-79.
Cox Pavilion
The Lady Rebels inaugurated their new, state-of-the-art venue in 2001. The $16.8 million state-of-the-art Cox Pavilion is a 78,300 square foot, multi-purpose venue connected to the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus, and serves as the home court for UNLV women's basketball.
Cox Communications and the Thomas & Mack Center formed a partnership that brought the new facility to UNLV and the Las Vegas community in 2001. As part of a $5 million agreement, Cox Communications secured the naming rights for the facility as well as opportunities for sponsorship and hospitality.
"We are pleased that Cox, a relatively new member of the Southern Nevada corporate community, has chosen to take an active role in supporting both academics and athletics at UNLV," UNLV President Dr. Carol C. Harter said. "The Cox Pavilion, like Cox's donation of television equipment and their annual support for a new cable television education channel, will benefit the community in many ways."
The pavilion is a two-level structure. The ground floor features new men's and women's locker facilities, player lounges and practice courts for basketball and volleyball. The top level is a multi-purpose venue with a seating capacity of 3,100, and 2,500 for sporting events.
In addition to UNLV athletic events, the Cox Pavilion hosts a variety of events, including small concerts, boxing events, theater-style family shows, corporate parties, trade shows and more.
Student Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC)
Total wellness will be easier and better than ever in the first facility on campus dedicated specifically to student recreation. More than 184,000 square feet in the RWC will be focused on students having fun and being healthy.
